Sir John Buchan, 1st Baron Tweedsmuir of Elsfield, was Governor General from 1935-1940. He was a writer and he created the Governor General's Literary Awards, which continue to be Canada's most prestigious recognition of literary merit.
E.W. Wallace was a missionary to China. He was at Victoria University from 1925-1941.
Photograph is a modern copy of 1936 original.
