Title based on the inscription on recto:
"Chalke Cottage".

"Chalke Cottage," as Marjorie Pickthall named it, was located in Bowerchalke, near Salisbury, Wiltshire, Great Britain. She rented it between 1913 and 1919, and spent her summers there with her cousin, Edith Whillier, with the exception of 1916 (when she enrolled in a gardening course in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire, to contribute to the war effort).

Her first novel, Little Hearts, was written there in the spring of 1914.
